There will be no more adventures for us aboard Oasis - unless we go and visit Stephen and Hazel.... you can follow their adventures at www.yachtoasis.com |
Pages re-organised We have now fully transferred www.yachtoasis.com to Stephen and Hazel. It is going to be fun to follow their adventures. This has meant a significant re-organisation of this site, and there were a few gltiches with the navigation, but hopefully that is all sorted now! These pages are now resident on our website www.gnomeworks.co.uk, which hosts a number of our new projects. We have also launched a series of workshops in digital photography - Graham has often been asked to show people how to use their cameras, and enjoys sharing his knowledge and awakening the creative person within, so this is a natural progression. These residential courses will be aimed at beginners and improvers to start with. Belinda will put her software skills to good use, helping demonstrate techniques of image processing, as well as using her culinary flair, turningthe best of local produce into delicious meals. |

About these pages These journal pages are the record of our time on Oasis from our preparations for our second Atlantic Crossing in late 2000 until March 2005. They cover many different aspects of the cruising lifestyle. We hope you will find them informative, useful, entertaining, inspiring and encouraging. Our original Atlantic Crossing was made from Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, South Carolina, via Bermuda and the Azores to Tollesbury, England, between May and July 1995. We made a movie of this passage. In 1998 we sailed Oasis from Tollesbury via Plymouth and Cadiz to Puerto de la Duquesa in southern Spain. From December 2000 to March 2005 we cruised extensively in the Windward and Leeward Islands, and made a passage from the Virgin Islands to Florida and on to the Chesapeake, before returning to the Caribbean by a direct route from Virginia to Martinique. Look out for 'A Cook's Crossing' (working title), which will be published soon. This is the story of our westbound Atlantic Crossing. |
